And here it is!
Update: Available from November 2015. Price by € 7.590,00.
We anticipated the arrival of this new Yamaha few weeks ago. Now, the bike inspired by the marvellous project Faster Sons by Shinya Kimura and to the 1969’s XS650 is here.
As we said, aluminium tank, modern lamps, full digital dashboard and contemporary platform, perfectly blend with vintage design delivering a proper neo-retro motorbike. (Others, like BMW, Moto Guzzi and Honda will join the match this fall.)
As the Kimura’s custom bike, also the XSR700 is based on the MT07 platform. The 689cc parallel twin features about 75 hp and the crossplane construction to improve the torque delivery.
Despite the XSR700 is going to fight on the market directly with the front runner Ducati Scrambler... the XSR700 is 100% road use intended. Double front disk, Pirelli Phantom tyres, and a riders oriented seat height. Very good! The price has not yet been announced, but is reasonable to expect to be positioned not too far but for sure above the sister bike Yamaha MT07.
Can’t wait to ride this soul gifted Yamaha XSR 700.
