| Well, if two clues make an evidence (sort of), the possibility that Honda is going to show a new old-styled motorbike is concrete. According to the usually well informed Japanese magazine Young Machine, a bike inspired by the beautiful concept Honda CB1100R received the green light. Meanwhile on the other side of the ocean… some weeks ago Vito Cicchetti (Honda Motor Europe General Manager) interviewed by the Italian magazine Motociclismo (May 2015) spoke about a bike that will fight in the Ducati Scrambler's class, even though not being a scrambler model, but something close to the Honda’s heritage. Looks like a new, Honda neo-retro motorbike is not in dreams territory, uh? Vintage bikes always had their strong market niche, just look at the Triumph Classics for instance. But nowadays, the neo-retro bikes like the Bmw R Nine T and the Ducati Scrambler showed the opportunity of consistent deliveries of modern, emotional, Halo, post-heritage motorbikes. We talk about the upcoming Bmw, Moto Guzzi and Yamaha new motorbikes here. Young Machine, hints the bike could feature a 900cc mill derived from the CB 1100 unit. The unusual downsizing could be chosen in order to deliver a sporty, high revving engine. It could be also due to be aligned to the average competitors displacement and price segment... Stay tuned! |
