the prototype of the "eBuggy" will be in flash and bone, at the Geneva Motor Show (March 2019)
We recently anticipated (and warmly supported) the electric Dune Buggy project.
And above everything we warned Volkswagen about the risks that may occur if carmakers concentrate only in making cars with no joy of life in them. Well ladies and gentlemen, it’s a pleasure to report that it’s now official that the prototype of the "eBuggy" will be in flash and bone, at the Geneva Motor Show (March 5th 2019). Save the date, chaps.
The electric Buggy is based on the ID's MEB platform, just like, yesteryear, the Dune Buggies were made out of VW Beetles. (but we already told you this stuff, didn’t we?)
The electric Buggy will appear for now as a concept car (i.e. roofless and without doors) but interestingly Volkswagen decided to underline that, thanks to the large-scale series production models (like the ID) the modular electric drive development of low-volume niche series is now feasible.
